  1. Paul Smithson says:

Well, May slipped away very quickly as did many of the migrants here in MN. I finally found a free day on the 27th and hiked a local lake, ravine, and a new park near my home and was very pleased. Despite only 3 warblers for the day I beat my total of last year by 13. My last few hours were spent hiking with 2 8-year olds (not your best bet for finding birds) and was rewarded with a Sharpie and a Nighthawk. I never saw a Ruby-throated Hummingbird until 5 hours after my BGD, flew past my nose! Lots of fun, love hearing others stories. Looking forward to next year, I am already lining up a team and a new route!

Sweet, thanks for sending in your info. It’s great to set and then beat your own records…and with some kids in tow, good job!
